FULLERS' OPERA HOUSE.

VAUDEVILLE AND REVUE. The high standard of entertainment Provided at tho Opera House -was well maintained last night, when a new programme of vaudeville and Tevue was presented. The vaudeville items, which made up the' first !>art, were well varied, and made a strong appeal to all • tastes. Mr Jack Martin, a cowboy lariat manipulator, proved himself a skilful, esponont of a moat difficult aft. In his oapable hands the lariat appeared to bo endowed not only with life, but with intelligence. All manner of revolving movements were accomplished with the lariat by Mr Martin. In one demonstration two lariats wero employed and these were kept moving in a horizontal plane simultaneously round the body of the operator. Ik another item Mr Martin, by deft shaking of the lariat, would cause knots to foriu, an ordinary thumb knot, and the graceful figure of eight knot. The turn closed, with a striking exhibition of rapid vertical spinning of the looped lariat from side to aide, the body of the operator passing through the spinning circle with each movement. Mr Charlos Lewis, an English comedian with a downright manner of working, sang several songs and Telated a number of amusing incidents. The two Japanese acrobatic comedians, Takeo and Koma Namba. provided a really excellent tur.i. They opened with some good patter, with quaint hrticulation, but showed their full merit when they came to the other branch of their work. They gave some clever demonstrations of he#d balancing and of juggling, while the two were associated in. that mttnner. It eo.uia hardly be imagined that a mart could juggle with four balls while he was up-ended on the head of another man, but this was what was done. Acrobatic aoznersaiitting and hand springing on novelty lines were also included in the turn. Tin star. performance however was that of one of the two who ascended a flight of atairs on hishheatd t bumping from step to step upwards a« h his head contained nothing that would ache. The performance contained also a good comedy effect foT in essaying the lift to the first step the performer slipped his face oh the edge and thereby executed an interesting experiment in "conk-ology. The turn was received with well-deserved applause. Miss Irene Magley and Mr Monte Wolf, two American comedians and dancers, put on a bright turn, which oontained a hill fund o! interest. The olosing episode wae distinctly good. The Con Moreni' Musical Comedy Company appeared in the second part in tho revue, "Slightly Mixed." The story involved many complications, arising frdm a heroic but unsuccessful attempt on the port of a family party to hoodwink a visiting unole. A bailiff who entered the happy home shortly before tho visiting uncle was due was camouflaged as an outre relative of one of tho ladies, and in a frantio endeavour to make facte square with fiction five seta of twins were produced for the astonished inspection of the undo. Mr Con Morefii Was the bailiff with the temporary rank of relative, and he provided eoine very fine comedy. Miss Dollie Varni, as » housemaid, was also excellent. A now member of the company, Miss Patricia Reid, appeared for the first time and made a pleasing impression. She haa an agreeable soprano voice, and sang the waltz song from "Paul Jones." Miss "Winnie Edgerton, the pleading lady, eang the charming eong "Just for Me and Mary." Miss Minnie Goldberg and Mr Les Austin gave a graceful fox-trot demonstration. The ballet sextette kept the show moving brightly, and in every way excelled themselves. The programme will be repeated to-night.
