THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS.
TO THZ SDXTOH 03? "THE EEJESS." Sir, —It is a singular fact that when a correspondent respectfully submits a difficulty and asks for information, he has, in the course of the replies, to run the gauntlet of abuse and . belittling by '"incognitos," whose insolence invariably exceeds their wisdom. "Aranui" is quite right in stating there are 52 Thursdays and 53 Fridays in the twelve months, commencing with February Ist. His trouble, however, is how to meet 53-payments with 52 previous receipts. Tho explanation is simple. The Thursdays and Fridays are in pairs throughout the raid year, with the exception of February Ist (to-day). "Well, what did ''Aranui" do with yesterday's receipt? Does it not meet to-day's demand.—Yours, etc., J.H.B. . Sefton, February Ist.
