Ernest Judet was acquitted on the charge of treason. [Ernest Judet, formerly editor of the "Eclair," who had been living for several years in Switzerland as a refugee from justice on a charge of treason and returned voluntarily to France to submit to trial, appeared before the examining Magistrate for the first time on March 2nd. M. Judet has to answer a "dossier" comprising thirty thousand documents, many of which are extracts from French and German newspapers. M. Judet's name was mentioned in German diplomatic documents which were published after the war. On the other hand, it should be pointed out that M. Judet, although condemned to lifelong imprisonment "in contumaciam," returned from Switzerland without any constraint to face his judges.]
