CHBISTCHURCH CLUB. On Saturday at Shirley the firet of two qualifying rounds in the Borthmk Tin ?ompotition was played, concurrently with a Stroke Handicap. Fifty-two players competed, the best cards returned being as follows: Gross. Handicap Netl.
The first eight are the leading scorea in the Borthwick competition nnd the Stroke medals were won by W. B. Purchas (senior) and J. Dolph (junior).
K HAGLEY CLUB. The first round of the Lewis Cleek mixed foursome wasi played on the Hagley Links this afternoon. Results: Miss R. Wood and E. L. Ronaldson 2 down. Miss Cotton and P., A. Laurie 8 down. Mrs Fisher arid B. Fisher i down. Miss Preston and V, Hamilton 4 down. Mrs C. F. Smith and P. C. Harris 4 down.
RICHMOND HILL CLUB. , A bogey handicap, played on Saturday, resulted as follows: A. Eattray (handicap 8), 3 up. W. E. Earnshaw (15) 2 up. J. A. Jamieson (19) all square. T. ;Merry (15) all square. R. A. Row (11) all square F. Maddison (12) 2 down. F. Hutch ins (8) 3 down. Hargreaves (14) 5 down.
KAIAPOI CLUB. 'A bogey comjtetitiba, played at the Kaiapoi Links on Saturday afternoon, was won by L. Robinson, 1 up;- G. Templeton, all square being second. ■'
