ENGLISH VIEW OF AUSTRALIA, j LONDON, November 29. "Domestics' paradise." This is the heading of an article in the London "Evening News," drawing attention ' to the facility with which Australian ■women are able to secure domestics for Australia notwithstanding the famine in London homes. • - . The article states that one Australian woman was arranging with Australia House to take with her two parlourmaids at 35s a week each, two housemaids at 30s each, and a kitchenmaid at 255. She already has a cook in Australia at £2 2s a week. Mrs Layard, woman's migration officer, is quoted as saying that 50 per cent, of the girls who go to Australia get married within 12 months. Among next week's batch is the daughter of a retired army colonel. She has spent two years in a domestic college, and is going as a lady's help.
