TRAMWAYMEN'S WAGES.
AGREEMENT WITH BOARD. The tramway men held the largest meeting they have ever held yesterday morning, for tho purpose of coming to an agreement concerning wages and conditions. A conference had just taken {.■ lace between the representatives of the Union and of the Tramway Board, and the meeting was called to consider tfie delegates' report. A complete agreement which had been arrived at was endorsed by the meeting? Tho agreement provides for double rates of pay for Sunday duty which was previously paid for a/t the rate of time and a half. There are other improvements in the conditions' of employment. In the matter of wages the present rates, including the bonuses, are to continue in force, until the Court's pronouncement is mase, about the end of April. Notwithstanding the effecJt of any pronouncement of the Court, there will be a < reduction of one penny an hour in the present rates, and no further alteration shall be made in the rates of wages for a period of two years.
