The Lodge wiflied htm every success in his nor,- sphere. An invitation from tho Encampment Lodge to attend a members* social evening in Hastings street Hall, woe accepted with thanks. The dispensary delegate, Bro. L.,"White, presented ihe';early report,' which ■map. received and adopted. A lengthy discussion took place -: n tho hospital bed-scheme and it- was resolved .that. the . delegate, be instructed to acquiesce in the proposed increase in contributionspending the,expira/tion of. the present contract. , i COURT STAR. OF CANTERBURY. . ■ At the fortnightly imeeting of Court Star o£ Canterbury No. 2300, A.0.F., C.B. 15:o. C. W. P. Higgott presided over a large attendance of members. .The. reports" of tho eick visitors weto received and sick, nay totalling £25 was . passed for payment. During the evening Bro. W. A Weakley, P.D.C.R., and 3to. 0. Jacobsen, P.P 0.R., delegates to the TJ.F.S. Dispensary, gave their-report of the last meeting, for which they received tho thanks of the Court. Bros. G. G. BrooksJ P.C.R., delegate to the F.S. Council, also.reported on tlio business transacted at the last meeting of lha Council. ! ST. ALBANS SCHOOL COMMITTEE. • The St. Albans. School Committee met on Wednesday. Presont—Messrs •T. Moore (chairman), Bedwell, Dangerfield, Green, Har-' •rison, Jonep, Fra.ser, SUnderittg, arid Wright. The'Workg Committee reported that the work of grading the 'school grounds was rieafing | completion; that the gymnasium equipment , had been ereetftd, also the new fence and ] gates at tho main entrance. A protest waa' made against the Education Board's system of forwarding tho name of on'y one teacher to fill a vacancy, when thsro were twenty applicants for the position. A letter of congratulation was forwarded to Mr Boyoe on his promotion to headmaster Of -tie Rangiora school. Mr McGallan wfcs temporarily ap- ■ pointed to the position of assistant master. Letters of sympathy were ordered to be sent to Mr Sutherland, on account of the eerious illness of his wife, and to Mrs Malcolm on account of the scrioaiß illness of Mr, Malcolm. The schoolmaster reported that the health of the school ohildron was good and that the average attendance for the month was'62B.,
