The ' Dominion Governments have been invited to .arrange for representation at the conference, and to nominate suitable delegates to represent Government Departments, principal municipalities, ! chambers of commerce, traders, pastoraiists' organisations, motor associations, and fire brigades. Tho Minister of Industries, and Commerce (the Hon. E. P. As a result of information forwarded local enthusiasts at Pembroke, Mr C. V. Ayson, the Government Commissioner of Fisheries, visited Pembroke this week to verify the report of tho presence of quinnat salmon in the waters of the Upper Clutfca. Mr Ayson was agreeably surprised ( says tho "Otago* D'aiJy Times") to find that a fairly large run of salmon had taken place this season, a year earlier than was anticipated. Considering the time tho fish havo been liberated in the Wanaka streams, many quinnat havo been seen in tho streams feeding Lake Wan.ika, and the apparent success of the Society's effort?; to acclimatise this fish is considered the greatest thing yet achieved in fish culture in New Zealand.
