ST. ALBANS SCHOOL.
| At the monthly meeting of the St. Albans School Committee, a vote of sympathy was ; passed to Messrs Moore, Franklin, and , Fraser, members of the committee, who had suffered bereavements since tho previous *~■ meeting. A vote of sympathy was also "' passed to Mrs Cuddy, who had recently lost ' her husband. Both the late Mr Cuddy and ; Mrs Cuddy havo been generous supporters ! and workers in various functions connected with the school. It was decided to give the utmost support to the concert being organ--1 , ised by the North Canterbury School Com- ■ mittees' Association. The brass memorial tablet prepared in memory of old scholars who had given their lives in the cause of freedom in the various fields of service in the great war, was on view. This is now ready for erection. It was decided to hold the unveiling ceremony on July 21th, at 2.30 1 p.m., and to invite tho Minister of Education to perform the ceremony. The resignations of MisTs Newman and Mrs members of the school staff, wero received. The headmaster reported that he was in possession of the silver cup and medals won by the school life-saving tei\m la.?t season, and it wa#clecided to ask Mr Collins, the ' donor of the medals, to present them to the team. The average attendance was 538.9.
