(Received July 9th, 8.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 8. The Cardiff City Council decided to negotiate - for tho purchase of Cardiff Castle, with a view of offering it to tho Prince of Wales as a Welsh home.

In the time of tho Civil War, Charles I. went to Cardiff, and the castle was alternately occupied by Royalists and Parliamentarians. The castle, which has been in the possession of tho Marquis of Bute for many generations, was onco of enormous strength, and so constructed to resist the incursions of the Welsh.]
