METHVEN DOG TRIALS.
The annual trials of the Methvert Collie Jlub were held at Rosehill in good weather. The sheep were lent by Messrs T. S. Harrisoo and Richards Bros., and Mr M. Elliott (Morven) was the judge. The entries were large. TJie results were as follows: — Class I.—Long Pull (38 entries) —P. Kane's Bustle, 37 points. 1; C. Gray's Boss Jr., 31 points, 2; E. J. Yalentitis'a Lochiel Trust, ,30 points, 3; D. Mackintosh's Sharp, 29 point?, 4. Class 2.—Heading and Yarding (33 entries) —C. Gray's Boss Jr., 36 points, 1; D. Mackintosh's Sharp, S2 points, 2; W. Carney's Lassie, 31. points, 3; P. Kane's Bustle, 30 points, 4. Class 3.—Huntaway and Slew (37 entries) —C. Cran'3 Laddie, 29 points, 1; C. Gray's "Wat, 25 points. 2; W. Lobitn's dog, 23 point-si 3; L. Hutt's Fleet, 22 points, 4. Class - 4. —Yarding (37 entries) —E. Grieve's Pride, 34 points, 1; G. Keefe's Tui, 30 points, 2; W. Carney's Lassie, 29 points, 3; D. Mackintosh's Sharp, 28 points, 4. The maiden huntaway was won by L. Hutt's dog. E. Grieve's was second, and W. Grieve's and D. Middlcton's were bracketed third. J. Morgan's Moss won the maiden heading and yarding event, with J. Campbell's Mack second. Mr D. G. Wright's' cup for Lest long pulling dog was won by P. Kane's Bustle. Messrs McNeil and Clay's challenge cup was won by D. Mackintosh's Sharp. D. Mackintosh's Sharp was awarded the challenge cup presented by Messrs O'Neil and Clay. Othec special prizes wcte won by C. Campbell, P. Kane, J. Morgaij, L. Hutt, J. Chapman, D. McGimpsev, C. Cran, W. Pollock, A. McLeod, C. Gray, G. Good, C. ilcDougall, Grieve, and L. Phillipson.
