BANGIORA PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
Iho monthly meeting of the Rangiora Patriotic Committee was hold last evening tho .Mayor presiding over an attendance of 16 members.
A motion was curried expressing sympathy v.uh tho relatives of Captain W. Loco Sergeant W. B Bowles, Privates W. Wilson and • JJ • B - Ramsay, who have made the supreme eacrificc.
Tii© chairman reported that arrangements lrnd been made for an entertainment bv tho Canterbury Caledonian Society in aid of th» funds. "
The recommendation of the sub-commit,ice was adopted, namely, that returned soldiers be given a brief welcome at the railway station, and (hat periodical welcome-homo gatherings bo held, also that fsrcwgjhj be tendered to soldiers on final l eave> and that a present bo mode to each.
A number of siib-coinmitlccs were «->* i n to attend to tho variouf branches of patriotic work.
An appeal on behalf of the French War Orphans' Fund was referred to tho Appeais Committer for a report. It was decided to support tiio Sailors' Day appeai, and endeavour to sccure the co-opera-tion of tho Rangiora County Counc ; l in eohcitnig subscriptions.
