AN UNREGISTERED RESERVIST.

WEL LINGTON, May 10. The Union .Steam Ship Company was fined £20 for employing an unregistered reservist. Counsel for the defence explained that the reservist, when being by the master of one of .thu company's steamers, was asked if he had enrolled, and. the man replied that he had lost his enrolment certificate. The company was most particular "in the matter, and had issued strict instructions to all officers. The minimum fine was imposed.
