WELLINGTON, May 9. Judgment was given in tho Court of Appeal this morniu<r in the case of Meredith v. Freebairn. The Court held that the respondent was not the general agent of the appellant, nor was there any contractual relationship between the parties, which would make the respondent liable in damages for a breach of duty in negligently giving information, and that there was no consideration for the alleged contract between the parties. Tho appeal was dismissed with costs on tho highest scale as from a distance.
