Colonel Colonbrander has been killed under tragic circumstances (says. a Johannesburg message). He was acting , the part of Lord Chelmsford, the Bri- < tish Commander-in-Chief in the Zulu campaign of 1579, in a local film production, and, despite medical advice, persisted in riding in scenes depicting the rescue of the defenders of Rorke s Drift. Ho fell from liis horsa whuo crossing the Klip Hirer, and was, drowned.
