Sir James Mills passed through Christchurch last night on his way to Wellington. Colonel Chaffev, 0.C.D., visits the camp of tho 13tH Regiment at Omoto, near Greymouth, nest week. Mr Albert Kayo, who recently re- .} turned from a visit to England, was formally welcomed home by the chairman at the meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board yesterday. The Philosophical Institute of Canterbury, at its annual meeting last night, passed to two of itfe members who have returned from the front —Dr. W. Irving and Dr. J. P. Whotter—a Vote of congratulation on their safo «turn to New Zealand and of appreciation of their services to tho Empire. Private advices received in Christfchurch state that the Rev. Father Price, who has been on the Western front for some months past, is now in England, having been invalided back '. Jo the Brockenhurst Hospital. He hopes to leave for New Zealand as soon as he is well enough to travel. Tho lle-v. I. Sarginson, of the Timaru Congregational Church, has received a call to the pastorate of tho Congregational Church at St. Clair, Dunedin. Mr Sarginson has cieffnitely decided to accept the invtTauOn, and will close his ministry in Timaru on December 3Ut.
