TRENCH COMFORTS 'WEEK. The Y.M.C.A. Commissioners are asking for £1000 per month to enable them to distribute comforts with regularity once or twice a week to all New Zoalandere in the line and at the base camps and hospitals. A special .effort is being made this week to get a larger sum than usual for Chiistmas gift parcels. , - Every penny* subscribed this week will be cabled Home and "will be distributed in the form of comforte (chocolates, milk, cake, soups, cigarettes, tobacco, etc) before Christmas. The ,goods will be bought at lowest cost in England, or in France at the nearest point to the distributing base, and thus should be received in good, condition. \ TSi© general secretary at the Y.M.C.A, acknowledges with thanks the following additional contributions: —S.
