WOOLSTON FIRE BOARD.
» - A. meeting of the Woolston Fire Board was held on Saturday night. Present—The Mayor (Mr J. J. Graham), ileeere C. J. Cooper, V. Hart, W. B. Richardson, and A. P. Hopkins. The superintendent's report, including a report from Inspector Hugo, was referred to a. special committee, consisting of the Mayor, Messrs Hart, C. Till, Richardson, and Cooper, to report on. An application from Mr A. Burnley for leave to join the brigade as a volunteer was accepted. A communication was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs agreeing- to allow tho Board to issuo 37 debentures of £100 each at £96, to bear interest at 5 per ccnt. The question of by-laws was referred to tho special committee already aet up. The Board inspected the new fire station, and went into the matter of furnishing several rooms and the Board room, and it was decided that the next meeting of the Board should be held there. Tho fixing of the date for the opening of the new fire station was deferred till nest meeting of th« Board.
