WAIMAKARIRI HARBOUR BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Wolmakariri Harbour Board was held last \ night. Present —Messrs W. Doubleday (chairman), J. W. Wright. L. Edmond, B. Lissaman,' K. Macintosh, L. B. Evans, and J. W. Barnard. A letter was received from the residents of Raven street west,, drawing attention to the growth of willows on the bank, which prevented tbgir getting tlio fcun on winter mornings. The letter was referred to the Works Committee, with power to act. The harbourmaster reported a depth of Bft on the oar. The fresh on May 29th had given the water a better run down, but had caused silting up. below Kairaki, and had shifted the bar about a chain fuiv ther south. The recent heavy seas had interfered with the bar soundings. New < canvas and iron for the beacons was required. It was decided to carry out the necessary repairs. The financial statement for the month showed ■ receipts £16 0s 2d, expenditure £99 3s lOd, overdraft at the bank £135 3s 2d<
