MEETINGS AND SOCIALS.
+ DR. BARNARDO'S HOMES. j On Thursday evening last a lecture was given in St. Saviour's Schoolroom, West Lyttelton, by Miss Coabey, of London, on the work of Dr. Barnardo'B Homes. A large number of children were present. The sum of £1 16s was collected in v aid of the work. CHILDREN'S MISSION. Riccarton children gathered in goodly numbers laat week to the special mission meetings being conducted by tho Rev. E. Palgrave Davy, in connexion with tho New Zealand Children's Mission, the attendance being about 2000. This week the mission, is to be conducted at St. Albans. BROMLEY SCHOOL SOCIAL. The firet of the winter series of socials in connexion with the Bromley School wn« hold on Friday night. Despite the weather there was a large attendance, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs Martin won •the first prize for ladies, thus securing olb of tea, and Mr . White' was the lucky gentleman to secure the ham. Miss D. Moore gave a couple of exhibitons of Scotch dancing to the bagpipee, and was heartily applauded. The committee were untiring in their efforts to satisfy the wanta of their numerous patrons, and succeeded to tho satisfaction of everybody.
