CALEDOXIAX SOCIETY. ' The monthly cveniui; of the Canterbury Caledonian Socicty took place last evening. A meeting 01" the Loy;.l Benevolent Lodge of Oddfellows. Manchester Unity, was held on Monday, X.G. Bro. H. P. Le Pa»e presiding- over a f.-tir attendance. The- sick visitors reported eight members on the fund. Correspondence was received from th<- Xt-.v Zealand Branch and the Xorth Cauterbury District relative to the appropriation of surplus capital. It wag resolved to hold the ouestion over till quarter night. The X.G. and others reported attending the district meeting held in connexion with the B.M.C. meeting. The trustees' report being- favourable. an application for a loan was granted. The delegates to the L'nitod Friendly Societies' Dispensary presented their reoort, which waa adopted.
