CITIZENS' DEFENCE CORPS.
« — „ . SUMNER-REDCLIFFS UXIT. The weekly parndo of the Sumner-Redcliffs section of the Citizeno' Defencc Corps wus held yesterday morning, ■when there waa a muster of sixty. Advantage was taken of the low tide to do the morning's ■work on the beach at Sumner. Sergeant W. A. Smith exsreised the men in squad drill, and this was followed by section drill Tinder Sergeants Piercy, Best, Middleton, and Corporal Longuet. The parade was concluded with a course of company drill under Sergeant W. A. Smith. The platoon decided to attend battalion drill at King Edward Barracks to-morrow evening. Several recruits were added to the ranks. and arrangements were mado for special drills during the week for tho Tait- Cup.
