At the Supremo Court to-day, John Jlattaon, an elderly man, was sentenced by the Chief Justice, Sir - Robert Stout, to ono month's imprisonment on each of £<ro charge.s of false pretences, the terns to bo cumulative, and declared him an. habitual, criminal. Tlio prisoner was released by tlio Prisons Board some time ago on the understanding tllat he never touched liquor again.
