SYDNEY, January 12. Owing to the dependence of the white population on Australian supplies, New South Wales and Queensland have decided to jointly supply Singapore with 120 tons of "meat per month. The "Times -of Japan" states that Australian buyers nave purchased 10,000 tons of suga r for delivery in January and February. LORD MAYOR OF SYDNEY. (Received January 12th, 10.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 12. Alderman R. D. Meagher has been sworn in as Lord Mayor of Sydney. BROKEN HILL STRIKE. (Received January 12th, 10.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 12. Five thousand miners- are idle at Broken Hill. So far the strike has not affected the Port Pirie works.
