SOLDIERS' CHRISTMAS FUND

Our Teaders are invited to contribute to our "Canterbury Soldiers Christmas Parcel Fund" to 6ond a nice little Christmas 'tuck-box'' to each Canterbury soldier at the front. In each parcel sent by readers of "The Press'' we propose to include a card bearing their Christmas greetings and good wishes to our brave boys. Total to date ... £680 10 5 NAMES OF DONORS. , Wo feel suro that many of the soldiers who rocoivo tho Christmas Gifts from New Zealand will be glad to &etd an acknowledgment to tho donors. To facilitate this being done, wo'shall be glad if all who havo contributed to tho fund will send us their names and addresses plainly written, no that these can be enclosed in the parcels. Thcso must, however, be forwarded at once as the parcels are now being packed at the depot of Lady Liverpool's Committee. It is roughly estimated that a parcel of comforts is being sent for each 5s contributed, and that Is will purchase through the Overseas Club a packet of tobacco and cigarettes. Tho Executive Committee of Lady Liverpool's Committeo have decided to send £300 to tho Overseas Club for the latter purpose, kbo that an ample supply of tobacco and cigarettes is assured.

It is 'particularly requested that the names and addresses should be sent cither on a postcard or in an envelope, plainly inscribed "Donors' names." Where the donation has been sent under initials or a pen-name, these should be added for the purpose of identification.

Some of our readers have sent fSeir names and addresses on an envelope, with a sheet or two of paper inside. This is an excellent idea. A "reply poetcard" would also be very suitable for the purpose.
