The Pliinmer-liall Company will open its> season on Saturday next at tho Theatre Royal with tho successful play, "The- Mummy and the Humming Bird," by Isaac Henderson. The play deals'with tho affairs of Lord Lumley, a man so absorbed in scientific research that he neglects''his wffe. The third sido of the "eternal triangle" turns up in Count d'Orolli ("tho humming bird"), an Italian who insinuates himself into the good graces of Lady Lumley, tho neglected wife. The tension begins when Lord LmnJey becomes distracted by tho strains of an organ oeing played outside by Giuseppe, an Italian organ-grinder." Lord Lumley calls Giuseppe in, and becomes rapidiy interested in his tragic story of one who has ruined his young Sicilian wife, against whom ho lias sworn a vendetta.
