FIRES.
_ g. Tiio Chrisirrhurch Fire Brigade received a call at M.l-J a.m. on Saturday to a four-roomed cottage in Stanley street, Sydenham, which was owned by Mr J. Murphy, and occupied by Air Peter Carmichael. The origin of the outbreak is unknown, and the house and its content? were to a great extent damaged before tho flames wore subdued. The house was insured in the United office for £220, and the. contents for £150 in another office.
