CAPTURE OF THE TAION
GALLANTRY OF A PORTUGUESE.
(By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) HONG KONG, April 29. Two torpedo destroyers havo proceeded to tho scene of tho Taion affair. The captain of tho Taion shot several pirates dead. Dias, a Portuguese watchman, displayed great gallantry. Ho was very pluckily fighting tho pirates till the vessel caught fire. It was at first thought that he had perished in the flames, but it, now transpires that he was among thoso rescued by tho steamers which went to tho relief.
Tho la-ion's hold was found to bo crowded with corpses.
