Much interest is already being shown here in connexion with the military camp to be held at Kowai Bush next month. Last year's encampment is still fresh in the memory of most residents, when a lively and merry week was provided for the usually quiet township. As the camp this year is to be on a much larger scale, a record time lor Springfield is anticipated. Preparations are already in hand. On Saturday, a special train conveyed n largo quantity of material to Kowai Bush for siding accommodation required, and a yang of about twenty men were busy during the afternoon handling the material. A defence survey party has completed a survey of the country in the vicinity of the camp site.
