In the Houso of Commons, the Government's majority fell to 37 on an amendment desiring more generous treatment for soldiers married off the strength of the regiment. Colonel Soely promised concessions, but the Unionists unexpectedly called for a division. A number of Labour members, who hud supported tho amendment, voted with the Government.
