» CHAOS IN* NEW YORK. FEARS OF AN EPIDEMIC. ("Times" Sydney "Sun" Special Cable.) (Received 4th, 6.5 p.m.") NEW YORK, March 3. Chaotic conditions continue in Now York and neighbouring States. The damage to property runs into millions of dollars. The streets of the city are packed with ice and snow. Traffic is held up, and some districts are isolated. Prospects of a thaw are regarded with apprehension. Thero is a likelihood of an epidemic arising owing to garbage lying in the streets.
