TAXATION PROPOSALS.
(Received March 4th, 9.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 4. The result of to-day's meeting of the Labour caucus has not been communicated to the Press. The "Daily Telegraph" understands that it is almost certain that the caucus will agree to the income 'tax exemption being reduced from £300 to £250, which will apply to this year's incomes. No alteration will be made in tho exemption of £50 for each child, but the tax on incomes derived from rural lands will bo raised from 6d to Bd. The taxation existing in New Zealand in respect to cheques and receipts will also be imposed.
