A BOGUS DOCTOR.

(press association* telegram.) WELLINGTON. March 4. In the Magistrates Court Harry Lynno Hartog was sentenced to two months' imprisonment for obtaining £10 by moans of false pretences. He gave an hotelkeeper where he stayed a £30 cheque on an Auckland bank. After he left the cheque was dishonoured. Accused, who had called himself "Doctor," had stated to some medical gentlemen that he was going to read a paper on "Diseases of the Feet" at the Medical Congress in Auckland. The man is well-known to the police of Victoria.
