EXPORT OF HONEY.
GRADING POETS FIXED. The development in th© honey export trade of the Dominion has been very
marked during the past two >or three years. With, the obj_ot of ensuring the quality and colour of the noney shipped from New Zealand, tho Government has mado the grading of honey compulsory as jn the c._e of dairy produce. Information has been received in Christchurch that the Government has scheduled Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin as tho grading ports of the Dominion, and in future all honey for shipment oversea will have to pass through tho. grading store* at these four ports. Mr h. Bowman, Government Apiarist, attached to the local office of tho Department of Agriculture, has been appointed grader for the port of Lyttelton. Ho informed a representative of "The Press" yesterday that the new season's honey is steadily coming to hand to bo graded Ono or two email consignments have already been shipped, and anotliVsr shinment will be leaving Lyttelton thus week.
