ASHBURTON MARKETS.
There is no more activity in the market than has been the case for some time past, and, although there is virtually no grain of any consequence being offered by farmers, the market is in no way affected. Wheat—Quotations remain at 3s 5d to 3s s£d on trucks for solid straw Tuscan, which is the only variety offering. Oats (nominal) —Gartons Is lid to 2s according to quality, Duns and Danish ls 9d to ls lOd. Chaff—There is a limited demand at 60s on trucks for prime quality. The North Island is drawing supplies from Blenheim, and chaff cannot be shipped from this, district at a profit, after a merchant pays current quotations and other charges.
