Friday's market at Lecston being a three-weekly ono, there was a larger entry of stock than at some of the recent 6ales. The attendance was about up to the average. On the whole the sale was a good one all round, and values compared more than favourably with those ruling at last market. Sheep, store pigs, and cattle were well represented in the entries for the time of tho year. Tho yarding of fat pigs numbered 80, store pigs 245, and cattle 82. Amongst the sheep sales were fat hoggets 16s 6d to 19s 2d, fat wethers 23s 9d, fat ewes 15s lOd, ewes and wethers 245, four-tooth wethers 275, ewes and lambs (.all counted) 7s 3d. 15 ewes and lambs 8s 9d, 46 ewes and lambs 9s 6d. Only a small proportion of the fat pigs entered were heavy baconers, most of them being unfinished. There was a fair amount of competition between the buyers, and this resulted in tho prices remaining firm. Choppers made up to £6 5s (this price being secured for ono sent in by Mr T. H. Overton). Baconers realised 52s to 755, equal to 6d per lb, porkers from <los, equal to 6id per lb, heavy stores 26s to 365, lighter ISs to 245, weaners from lis Cd, boars 22gs, sows in pig 55s to 87s 6d. The greater portion of the cattle entered for sale consisted of dairy animals. Springers made £4 5s to £11 10s. A line of fine dairy cows sent in by Mr H. M. Hay realised' an average of £7 3s per head, two bulls bringing £4 10s 6d and £4 15s respectively. Store heifers brought £4 2s 6d to £4 lis, calves 29s to £2 7s 6d.
