TATTERSALL'S HORSE BAZAAR.
H. Matson and Co. report having had an entry of 34 horses on Saturday. The demand for all classes- was tho most spirited they have had for a long time, and out of tho total entries 27 horses were sold under tho hammer. For good sound draughts the competition was especially good, and every horse of this description was sold at auction. Some of the principal sales wero:—Account J. Recce ; Southbridge, gelding, 9yrs, £'3G 10s: light mare, syrs, £19; account S. Andrew, Fairlie, half-draught gelding, Syrs, £21; account D. Coleman, Annat, gelding, 4yrs, £23 10s; account C. Hunter, gelding, 9yrs, £23; account G. Woods, aged gelding, £18; account Christchurch Meat Co., aged mare, £16 10s. Hacks and harness horses wero mostly of fair to indifferent quality, but anything showing any usefulness was readily placed. Sales wero made at from £4 to £11 ss.
