Hanrahan, acn., I. .Devane, H. 1\ Madden, I>. AloDonnell, J. Haiugan, W. J. Cunningham, Al. «». Burgess, S. Madden, and Al. J. Aloriarty have been appointed tho executive body of tho Ashburton orauch of tiie JNcw Zealand Catholic Federation. At a meeting held on Sunday afternoon, Messrs W. J. Cunningham and Al. .J. Burgess wero elected vice-presidents, and Mr AI. J. Moriarty secretary. JD*ean J. J. O'Donnell was delegated to attend the Federation Conference m Christchurch.
At the monthly meeting of the Wakanui Road Beard, held on Saturday, Messrs T. Doig and J. Bruce stated that it was their intention not to seek re-election as members of the Board, and tho following resolution was unanimously passed:—"That tho Board desires to express its high appreciation of the very valuable services which have been rendered to tho Board for many years by Messrs Doig and Bruce, representing Ward No. 3 as by thoir ability and the attention they have given to the business of tho Board, they have placed the district under a lasting obligation, and they each carry with them the respect and esteem of their fellow-members."
