ANNUAL MEETING,

At the annnal general meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Council, Mr J. R. Evans presiding, the- annual report stated, inter alia, that throughout {.ho North Island and in the South, with the- exception of Dunedin and Invorcargill, the professional, side of the sport was very liberally catered for, but as far as could bo ascertained, this was not at the expense of the amateur branch. The trouble that Associations were faced with in connection with the development of the amateur side, was tho inability, from various causes, to secure suitable premises in whiau instruction, training and try-out competitions could be undertaken. "Despite this, the supply of competitors for amateur events keeps up surprisingly well, and taken all round the form is maintained at a very fair standard. The Council Committee would strongly urge upon associations the desirableness of giving the matter of securing premises for tho purpose enumerated tneir most, careful consideration, for the strength and prestigo of the eport in tho Dominion depend largely, if not almost entirely, upon the amateur section."

Tho balance-sheet showed receipts £272 18s Bd, and expenditure £241 2s 3d, leaving a credit balance of £31 16s 6d

The honorary secretary reported that the election of tho Council liad resulted as follows:—Patron, Sir J. G. Ward: committee, Messrs C. T. Aschman, C. J. Cooper, J. It. Evans, J. F. Grierson, F. W. Johnston, A. It. Kirk and J. It. Olliver. Mr W. G. Atack was re-elected as honorary secretary, having agreed to withdraw his resignation. Mr H. E. Marsh wns reelected honorary auditor, and Mr J, Ei ' Evans chairman of committee. Messrs C. T. Aschman and A. R. Kirk were appointed to act with tho chairman us an executive.

The New Zealand championships were allotted to the Timarn Association, and tho Australasian championships to the Otago Association.
