A Bill is to be introduced in the Bavarian Parliament in .January deposing King Otto and crowning Prince Ludwig as King. Otto Wi'helm Luitpold Adalbert Waldomar, King of Bavaria, was born on April 27ih, 1818, at Munich. Ho received a military education and took part in the war of 1870. It was about this time that tho insanity which has clouded his intellect ever since began to show itself. M. DELCASSE'S SON INJURED. PARIS, December 22. As the result of a collision between two aeroplanes, 31. Delcasse's son, who was aeroplaning, received a fractured arm, collarbone, and kneecap. His pilot was also severely injured. FISHING BOATS FOUNDER. ST. PETERSBURG, December 22. Fifteen boats foundered in the Caspian Sea, aud forty-one fishermen are missing. ORDERED OUT. PARIS, December 22. A German ship, surreptitiously proceeding to an anchorage at Cherbourg, was prohibited from doing so for reasons of national defence, and was ordered to return to the roadstead. THE LATE MR WHITELAW REID. LONDON, December 22. H.M.S. Natal has sailed from Portsmouth for New York, with the late Mr Whitelaw Reid's remains on board. The body was accorded naval honours, ancl minute guns were fired. DEARER COAL. LONDON, December 22. Owing to dearer coal, the GermanAustralian and Nord Deutscher Lloyd Companies are adding li to 2 marks to the freight rates to Australia and New Zealand for different classes of goods. THAMES IRONWORKS. LONDON, December 22. At the instance of the creditors, the Thames Ironworks have been closed with a view to selling at the earliest opportunity. A thousand employees have been thrown out of work. RIOTERS SENTENCED. LONDON, December 22. Twenty-three Nationalists were sentenced to three months' imprisonment each in connection with the Castle Dawson riot, and six Unionists to one month each, for the part they took in the Carrickfergus riot.
PLOT AGAINST ITALY'S KING. HOME, December 23. Delferro, a waiter, committed suicide at Bologna. When dying he confessed that anarchists drew lots to kill King Emanuel, and the lot fell to Delferro. He was given money, but his courage failed him, and he spent the money on drink. Fearing vengeance, ho committed suicide. PICTURE THEATRE PANIC. BRUSSELS, December 23. In a panic at a cinematograph theatre at Barraqucs, owing to a film igniting, twelve people were killed and twenty injured, mostly children.
