ATHLETICS.
NORTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. At a special meeting at RangTbra on Wednesday evening, the committee d the North Canterbury Athletic Society received deputations of Messrs Dixon and Barrett of the Conacre, and Messrs Re veil and Healings of the Cycling: and Sports Association. Mr F. Hcrrell presided. The views of the two deputations on the control of sport were discussed, and it was decided to adjourn the maf-er tall next Tuesday. Notice of motion waa given— "That the New Year eports at Rangiora be abandoned owing to the split in respect of the control of sports' generally."
