Susan Emily Smith, aged fifty-six, was found dead by her husband * this morning, behind their residence at Grey Lynn, with an empty lysol bottle alongside her. She had had frequent periods of depression owing to an incurable malady. CARTERTON, November 26. News reached Carterton this - orning of tho death by drowning of William Burch, of Greytown. Deceased, wbo was a young man, was returning to Greytown from Masterton, passing through Gladstone at the back of Papawai. It was necessary to cross tho Ruamahunga, which was swollen". His companions urged him not to go but the young man ventured, and was drowned.
