' The anniversary of the Battle of tho Boyrie was celebrated in Belfast. Notwithstanding a heavy and continuous downpour, 55,000 Orangemen marched through tho principal streets. Roman Catholics made an attempt to destroy tho Orange arch. Tliis led to a riot, and stone-throwing was rife. Tlio police used their batons on the mob, and a free fight ensued. Windows were smashed in tho riot, and several policemen and rioters had to bo cpnvoyed to tho hospital. Disturbances from other districts aro also reported.
Mr F. E. Smith, M.P., K.C., the principal speaker at a public meeting, said that Home Rule was tho most brazen paradox of modern politics, and if ho were an Ulster Protestant, ho would rather bo ruled by the Sultan from Constantinople than by Mr Devlin.
