FIRES.
Mr A, Smith, a farmer living near Amberley, had a stack of oats destroyed by fire last week. Tlr's is the second lire of a similar kind that has taken place in Amberley recently. A short time ano Mr Stead, of Brackenfield, had three- stacks burnt, and it was thought to be the work of incendiarists, and tlio matter was lilaceci in the hands of the police. Mr" Smith who purchased a portion of the Brackenfiold Estate, resides next to Mr Stead's property.
