(Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) ! DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders for drunkenness were each fined os, in default 24 hours gaol, and another 10s, in default 48 hours. Another, charged with being found drunk whilst in charge of a horsn and cart, was convicted and discharged. IMPORTUNING. Archibald Baxter, alias John Robertson, was charged with being a rogue and vagabond, in that ho was found by night without lawful excuse in the dwcliing-houso of Emma Knight. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, provided he remained in the Salvation Army Prison Gate Home for thrco months.

Chief Detective Bishop said tho man drank. Ho had been assured that tho man would get a situation if given another chance, provided a prohibition order was issued against him. Accused was convicted and ordered to refund tho money within two weeks, in default six month/-' imprisonment. A prohibition order was also made against him.
