Sir.—lf one worn asked to name the most striking feature in connection with municipal matters there is no -doubt M out of 100 would answer: -The apathy of tho general public.'"' There is to be a triangular contest this year which may add a little interest to the Mayoral election. The present Mayor, Mr Dougall. at considerable private sacrifice, took office under sad circumstance*, which, are fresh in the memories of all of us. and there is no doubt he has filled tho position with credit to himself and his office of Chief Magistrate of the city. He has. at the request of a large number of citizens, consented to be nominated for a further term, aud it is hoyed the. citizens generally will appreciate his action by attending tho meeting at the Kind's Theatre at which he will g' ve an account of his stewardship.—Yours, etc IiATEPAIER.
