SOUTHBROOK.
A meeting of the trustees of tho Southbrook Public Hall was held on Tuesday evening, Mr J. Sutcliffo in the chair. It was reported that about £50 had been promised towards the erection of the hall, which, together with tho £23 in hand and the freehold section, aeaured tho trustees that the £75 premised by the Government could bo claimed. A sketch plan of tho hall was submitted, and a discussion took place respecting its dimensions. It was decided to havo a public meeting on tho 10th October to decide the question of sit©, approve- of tho plan, and to for tenders. Tho secretary and treasurer, Mr J. B. Borthwick, tendered his resignation owing to leaving tho district, and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services in this connection.
