PA-.JAMENT TO BE PROROGUED
(Received July 31st, 9.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 31. Mr Wade states that owing to his inabiJity to persuade the LieutenantGovernor to grant a dissolution, ho has returned tho commission to form v ministry. Mr Holman had a second interview with tho Lieutenant-Governor, who asked him to withdraw the resignations of tho Government, and granted tho condition previously asked for, viz., that Parliament should bo prorogued until after tho by-elections had been held- Mr Hb'mian consented to withdraw tho resignations.
Notice of prorogation will be issued to-morrow, in tho meantime the Government continues in powor.
