NATIONAL INSURANCE BILL.
(Received July 18th, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 18. During the debate on the National Insurance Bill, Mr Lloyd George made a concession whereby an insured man's wife who works and is insured shall receive sick pay of seven and sixpence a week besides the maternity benefit. The sub-section withholding sickness and disablement benefits from boys and girls was omitted, Mr Reginald McKenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, accepting an amendment by Mr H. B. Lees Smith Liberal member for Northampton, fixing the benefits at five and four shillings for boys and girls respectively. (Received July 19th, 12.25 a.m.) LONDON, July 18. It is stated that the Government have prepared a list three hundred arid fifty now Peers. Fifty will be created in tho first instance if the Parliament Bill is sent down amended.
