Mr Asquith to-day received a deputation urging the establishment of an advisory Imperial Council. THE WEST ABERDEEN ELECTION.
LONDON, April 26. During the last election, the Earl of Aberdeen, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, sent a letter to one of the candidates for the West Aberdeen seat, stating that his experience of Irish affairs convinced him .that Home Rule .was the right policy. This letter caused a good deal of comment. The Hoiise of Commons Committee on Privilege considered the case, and now reports that it is satisfied with Lord Aberdeen s explanation.
